The Don Jackson Fellows Program

The Don Jackson Fellows Program fosters student and professor interaction outside the classroom by providing support for students to assist faculty with research and teaching activities.

Each academic year the Finance Department faculty members select a small group of students for this highly prestigious honor. Fellows are chosen based on academic ability, integrity, work ethic and interpersonal skills.

The goal of the Jackson Fellows program is to provide a setting in which a student can work closely and interact with a Professor to enrich the student’s understanding of finance as well as having the faculty member serve as a mentor. Fellows and professors identify a set of broadly defined tasks in a collaborative manner that would significantly enhance the student experience. Students are expected to take a lead role in the work assignments with the Professor providing guidance, feedback and encouragement. In addition, the Don Jackson Fellows serve as the face of the finance department to outside constituents. In this role, they interact with board members, professional speakers, and incoming students.
