Meet the Director

Brenna Rivas, Ph.D., serves as SMU’s Director of Faculty Awards. Dr. Rivas earned her doctorate in Education from SMU in 2011 and holds an M.Ed. in Education from SMU and B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Clemson University. She has served as Co-PI on IES and OELA-funded grants for professional development and classroom-based interventions. Through her work on multiple federally funded research awards, she has published in the areas of intervention and assessment, technology-mediated learning environments, and assessment strategies in program evaluation. Dr. Rivas is able to assist SMU faculty members from any department in identifying and applying for grants and awards to support their research and academic careers.
