The SMU Tower Scholars Program is currently accepting applications from the Class of 2025.
Deadline: February 12, 2022, by 5 p.m. CT
Tower Scholars Program applicants must:
- Be a current first-year student at SMU
- Have a minimum 3.3 GPA for the fall semester
- Complete the application form
- Submit two recommendation letters. At least one of the letters MUST be from an SMU faculty member who has taught the applicant.
The Tower Scholars Program invites first-year students from across the university to apply. Once applications have been evaluated, a select number of applicants are invited to a panel interview with the Tower Scholars Program Selection Committee.

Ready to apply?
Step 1: Fill out the Recommendation Release Form
The Release form is a DocuSign form that gets automatically sent to the Tower Scholars Program. Students MUST complete the form TWICE, once for each recommender.
Step 2: Send Recommendation Form to Recommenders
Once completed, Recommenders will directly email their forms to TowerScholars@smu.edu
Step 3: Complete the Application Form
Students email the completed application form to TowerScholars@smu.edu
Remember, all application materials are due by February 12, 2022, by 5 p.m. CT
