Retroactive Credit

By taking a placement exam, students have the opportunity to apply for and receive retroactive credit for beginning and intermediate (first- and second-year only courses in their language of study. Once students have completed the course into which they placed with a grade of C- or higher, they may apply for and receive any retroactive credit earned (up to a maximum of 16 credits depending on the language of study).

You may request retroactive credit by visiting the link: https://smu-forms.libwizard.com/f/retroactive-credit_

If you are eligible for retroactive credit, your retroactive credit will be posted to your transcript and DPR after your final grade in the course has been posted. In most cases, this will happen sometime during the term following course completion.

If you are a graduating senior and need expedited processing of retroactive credit, please contact the WLL Advisor.
