About Vidhya Seran
Dr. Vidhya Seran is a Research Fellow at the O'Donnell Institute and Associate Director of Applied Research at Verizon. Her research spans multimodal and generative AI, computer vision, intelligent media, edge-to-cloud systems, and high-performance research computing, with a consistent focus on the methods and infrastructure required to move research into deployed systems at scale.
Dr. Seran has led applied research initiatives across telecommunications, media, and enterprise applications and contributed to industry standards for volumetric media through her leadership in the Volumetric Format Association. She is an inventor on more than 30 issued and pending U.S. patents and has published research in IEEE venues. Dr. Seran earned her Ph.D. in Video Coding and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo.
