For those with a pass, parking is at Binkley Parking Center #69 (Binkley Ave Entry Only levels 2-5). Display the E-Permit on the front dash. If needed, enter the code (found in your welcome email on Feb 21) followed by enter or #.
SHUTTLE AND BEER AND HYMNS
Join us Tuesday night for a celebratory hymn sing! The shuttle departs Perkins at 7 p.m. from Perkins Chapel—please arrive 10 minutes early. If you need a ride, let us know.

Our Speakers
Steve Guthrie
Dr. Steve Guthrie is Professor of Theology, and Religion and the Arts at Belmont University, where he is also Senior Fellow of the Creative Arts Collective for Christian Faith and Life. His undergraduate degree was in music theory from the University of Michigan. His undergraduate degree in music theory is from the University of Michigan, and his PhD in theology is from the University of St. Andrews. He has been a minister of music, and has performed and recorded as a professional musician. He is the author of Creator Spirit: The Holy Spirit and the Art of Becoming Human, co-editor of Resonant Witness with Jeremy Begbie, and with Bennett Zon is the co-General Editor of the Oxford Handbook of Music and Christian Theology (5 vols. OUP, 2026).
Monique Ingalls
Dr. Monique M. Ingalls is Director of Research and Graduate Programs at the Dunn Center for Christian Music Studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, USA. Her numerous books and articles focus on present-day congregational music-making, addressing themes such as worship music in global Pentecostalism, online religious music practices, musical localization within world Christianities, and Black British gospel music. She is co-founder of the biennial "Christian Congregational Music: Local and Global Perspectives" conference and serves as senior editor of the Congregational Music Studies Book Series with Routledge Press.
Jeffrey A. Murdock
Dr. Jeffrey Allen Murdock is internationally known as a conductor and clinician. He currently serves as Director of Choral Activities, Professor of Music, and founding director of the Arkansas Center for Black Music at the University of Arkansas. He is the 2016 Connor Endowed Faculty Fellow in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Science, and 2019 Most Outstanding Faculty at the University of Arkansas. He is the 2021 GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year. Dr. Murdock holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting, both from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Music Education from the University of Memphis.
Our Alumni Organ Concert Players
We are excited to announce the performers of our Perkins Sacred Music Reunion Organ Concert, which will open our event at SMU from February 24 to 26, 2025.Charles Eidelman – A pianist-turned-organist from Michigan, Charles has performed at Carnegie Hall and studied under esteemed mentors. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in organ at SMU, he is the Organ Scholar at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church.
Michael Conrady, AAGO (MSM ‘09, MTS ‘09, DMin ‘19) – A third-generation organist, Dr. Conrady has won prestigious competitions and studied at Baylor, SMU, and UNT. He serves as an adjunct professor of Sacred Music at UNT College of Music and is active in concertizing, composing, and pastoral ministry.
Alissa Brewer (MSM ‘15) – The Organist and Choirmaster at St. Vincent’s Anglican Cathedral, Alissa leads the Cathedral and Handbell Choirs and oversees a historic organ. She holds degrees from TCU and Perkins and enjoys time with her family.
Wayne A. Barr (MSM ‘92) – Dr. Barr is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Tuskegee University. An accomplished choral conductor and organist, he has performed at major festivals and led international music programs.
Our Soli Deo Gloria Awardees!
We are excited to honor the following individuals at the Perkins Sacred Music Reunion at SMU from February 24 to 26, 2025.
Wayne A. Barr (MSM ‘92) – Dr. Barr is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Tuskegee University. An accomplished choral conductor and organist, he has performed at major festivals and led international music programs.
Tim Morrison (MSM ‘85) – A 40-year Music Director at Custer Road UMC, Tim is a leader in youth music ministry and has served in various UMC leadership roles. He has mentored Perkins students and was recognized as Collin County Father of the Year.
Judith Mosomos (MSM ‘85) – Dr. Mosomos is an internationally respected educator and conductor, serving as Artistic Director of the Methodist Festival Choir in Singapore. She has pioneered church music programs across Asia and contributed to major hymnal projects.
Clark W. Joseph (MTS in Church Music, ’05) – Minister of Music & Worship Arts at St. John Church Unleashed, Dr. Joseph has led music ministries worldwide and has been a featured presenter at major gospel music conferences.
