Perspective Magazine 2020: How Should We Think About the Bible?
Perspective magazine, distributed annually, is the official print publication for alumni/ae, friends, donors and supporters of SMU Perkins School of Theology. Letters to the editor and contributions to Alumni/ae News are welcomed.
The 2020 issue of Perspective Magazine, “How Should We Think About the Bible?” explores how students’ understanding of the Bible has expanded at Perkins; the richness of Bridwell Library’s Biblical collections (with illustrations throughout the magazine from Bridwell’s special collections); reflections from Perkins Biblical scholars on the joys and challenges of teaching the Bible to theology students; and an essay from Dean Craig C. Hill on his own journey, which ultimately led to his pursuit of New Testament scholarship. You’ll also meet new staff, read more about the recipients of the Seals Laity Award and Distinguished Alumna Award, learn about exciting opportunities at Perkins during 2020-21 and more.
Using ‘flipping book’ technology—which provides a user experience complete with ‘page turning’ combined with quick links to content—the magazine is accessible via computer, laptop or tablet. If you prefer a hard copy, each page can be printed for a more traditional reading experience. Check it out by clicking the image below!
