High School Instruction

SMU Libraries values its relationship with high school students in the North Texas area. Individual high school students are welcome to visit SMU Libraries on their own. High school teachers may request a visit for your school group. We provide access to high-quality information and instruction from librarians on how to match assignments to SMU’s resources. We will work with you to plan your visit and learning objectives.

We are excited to be a part of your students’ learning experience. If you are interested in visiting SMU Libraries with your students, please read the information below and fill out the form.

  • All visits are subject to the availability of resources, librarians, and space. Giving a range of dates makes it more likely that we can find a time that works.
  • We request at least 1 month notice for visits.
  • Library classroom space is limited. We cannot accommodate groups of over 35 students.
  • Students are welcome to borrow materials with a guest card. Students should contact their local library for a TexShare card, then apply for a guest card before the visit. We do not issue guest cards on the day of your visit.
