Brad Klein

 

Brad Klein, PhD, is a leader, innovator, and strategist working at the intersection of human rights and conservation.

 

Dr. Klein serves as Associate Director of the Human Rights Program and Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University (SMU), one of only nine US universities to offer a bachelor’s degree in human rights. He is a Board Member of Amnesty International USA, the world’s oldest and largest grassroots human rights organization; President and Board Chair of Audubon Dallas, a leading regional conservation organization; and Founder and Principal of Advancing Dignity, a firm providing organizational consulting and executive coaching for social and environmental impact. He is also an Advisor to EcoRise, LoveJustice, and Minga Peru, and an Ambassador for The Climate Initiative and The Institute for Economics & Peace.

 

Over the past two decades, he has managed initiatives in fourteen countries and directed more than fifty funded research projects, alongside teaching extensively in higher education and engaging communities as an author and speaker. His work has involved partnerships with organizations including the United Nations, The Nature Conservancy, The United Methodist Church, Human Rights First, the City of Dallas, and Yum! Brands.

 

Dr. Klein holds a PhD in Religion and Social Change awarded by the Joint Doctoral Program of the University of Denver and Iliff School of Theology; MA degrees in Peace and Justice Studies and in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the University of San Diego; a BA in Sociology and Theology from Marquette University; and a Graduate Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Harvard Business School.
