The Office of Cultural Intelligence and SMU Athletics invite you to the inaugural GameChangers Brunch, a Black History Month celebration honoring trailblazing athletes and coaches whose leadership has reshaped women’s sports.

This year’s featured speakers are Carolyn Peck—sports analyst, National Championship–winning coach, and WNBA pioneer—and Adia Barnes, SMU Head Women’s Basketball Coach and NCAA Final Four leader as both a player and a coach. Together, they represent a rare group of Black women who have led teams to the NCAA Final Four, with influence that extends far beyond the game.

The brunch will spotlight the growth and impact of women’s sports while exploring leadership, legacy, and the power of sport to drive cultural change—on and off the court.

Date: Saturday, February 21, 2026
Time: 11:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. (Doors open at 10:15 a.m.)
Attire: SMU spirit wear or business casual

Brunch will be served, and attendees will have the opportunity to win an autographed ball from Coach Adia Barnes or Coach Rhett Lashlee.

Please note: guests are asked not to request autographs directly from the speakers, and photos or videos using personal mobile devices or cameras are not permitted. Official photography will be provided. High school, middle school and elementary students will not be permitted to attend.
