Space Data
Space Management Coding Structure
Over the last six years the Space Management department has worked to centralize critical data into a single platform. This initiative was imperative to understanding our physical spaces, assets, and utilization of one of the university’s most critical resources. Today we house that data in five primary categories: Space Assignment (assignments), Space Definition (FICM code), Departmental Alignment (function code), Utilization (tracking code) and Assets.

Space Survey
Verifying data at regular intervals to provide the most accurate picture of how the university is using its space is a founding tenant of the Space Management department. With every data point we collect there is a responsibility to continually verify that data to be true and to be able to report timely and accurate data for decision-making.
Over the last three years we have curated a survey schedule for key data points. These surveys are timed thoughtfully to be collected ahead of critical reporting and in collaboration with key stakeholders for optimal accuracy. We have crafted our survey process to engage specific data owners in a simplified six step process ensuring high response rates and succinct survey durations.
