SMU Ignited Plaza - Campaign Monument

SMU Ignited Plaza – Campaign Monument

Project Overview:

A Lasting Tribute to a Historic Campaign

The new Southern Methodist University Ignited Plaza – Campaign Monument serves as a permanent celebration of the university’s record-breaking “SMU Ignited: Boldly Shaping Tomorrow” campaign, which raised $1.656 billion and concluded three years ahead of schedule on May 31, 2025. Created to honor the more than 67,500 donors and volunteers who contributed to the campaign’s success, the plaza stands as a lasting symbol of philanthropy, progress, and community impact across the SMU campus.

The campaign supported transformational projects throughout the university, including the Garry Weber End Zone Complex at Gerald J. Ford Stadium, the David B. Miller Business Quadrangle at the Cox School of Business, and the Moody School of Graduate and Advanced Studies.

Project Scope:

OFPM was proud to contribute to the construction of this commemorative campus installation through the addition of a new masonry donor monument and supporting site infrastructure.

Project scope included:

  • Masonry monument construction
  • Integrated lighting and bronze donor plaques
  • Concrete foundations
  • Structural metal supports at arches
  • Waterproofing
  • Electrical work
  • Landscaping and site finishes

Designed with durability and craftsmanship in mind, the SMU Ignited Plaza creates a meaningful campus landmark that will honor the impact of this historic campaign for generations to come.
