The National Hispanic/Latino(a) Leadership Development Consultation April 11-13, 2011

Perkins School of Theology hosts the National Hispanic/Latino(a) Leadership Development Consultation on April 11-13, 2011. The theme for this consultation is "Preparing Leaders for the Church in the 21st Century."

The National Plan for Hispanic/Latino(a) Ministry in collaboration with the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry successfully conducted a consultation process during 2008 and 2009 to address the urgent need for Hispanic leadership within the churches and community. For the first time, various educational components of the UMC gathered at a common table to discuss and explore a vision for developing Hispanic leadership for the life and ministry of The United Methodist Church.

These regional gatherings provided the basis for the National Hispanic/Latino(a) Leadership Development Consultation. The ultimate goal of this gathering is to affirm a strategic plan for the development of Hispanic/Latino(a) leadership within The United Methodist Church and the Hispanic community.
