2017 Admissions Application Registration

If you meet the admissions requirements for one or more B.A. in Advertising specializations you are eligible to complete the Temerlin Advertising Institute’s admissions application.

Click here to register for the 2017 application by Tuesday, February 21 at 11:45pm (CST).

To be considered for admission, you MUST:

  1. Complete the online essay exam on Saturday, February 25 between 9-11am (CST), AND
  2. Submit the following to Canvas* by 11:59pm (CST) on Sunday, March 12
    • Visual application(s) (i.e., video, photo, presentation) relevant to each of your specialization(s) of interest
    • Personal statement
    • Resume
    • Current, unofficial SMU transcript

*Registered students will be enrolled in a TAI Application course on Canvas by Thursday, February 23. Visual application prompts and instructions for the personal statement, resume, and unofficial transcript will be posted to Canvas on Friday, February 24.

If you have indicated interest in more than one specialization, you will be sent a visual application prompt for each.

There are no make-up options.

Admission is determined based on your written essay, visual application, SMU GPA, and performance in Advertising classes. Performance to-date in spring 2017 advertising classes will be considered in making admission decisions.

You will be notified of our admission decision on or before Friday, April 7, 2017. If admitted, you will be given permission to enroll in the necessary Advertising courses for fall 2017.
