Who We Are
Project Poëtica positions SMU as a major center of the English-language poetry world. While many institutions have scaled back their commitments to poetry and the literary arts, we have expanded them—launching three book lines with Bridwell Press and hosting an ambitious series of readings, lectures, symposia, and creative conversations.

Deep Vellum
We partner with Deep Vellum Publishing on Central Track Poetry. Together we publish ten poetry books per year, including English-language originals and works in translation. Project Poëtica sponsors all of Deep Vellum’s poetry events held at the bookstore and throughout the city.
English Literary History / Hopkins Review
Project Poëtica is partnering with the academic journal English Literary History and the literary magazine The Hopkins Review on an initiative to foster deep engagement between literary scholars and literary fiction writers. The idea is simple: a scholar and a writer with shared interests will read one another’s work, then gather for a public reading and conversation hosted by ELH Senior Editor Jeanne-Marie Jackson. Three publications will then appear in co-published issues of ELH and THR. An “Editor’s Spotlight” in ELH will feature a scholarly reflection on the fiction writer’s work, while The Hopkins Review will publish an edited version of the live conversation along with a previously unpublished piece selected by the writer.
Hay Festival Global
