Dallas Literary Festival and Arts & Letters Live at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Writers can explore
The Wild Detectives, a beloved Oak Cliff bookstore and bar that doubles as a literary salon, and attend readings and workshops through The Writer’s Garret, a long-standing hub for the local writing community. SMU English also enjoys a close association with
Deep Vellum Bookstore & Publishing Co, America’s largest publisher of literature in translation. The founder and publisher, Will Evans teaches classes on publishing in our department and each summer two SMU grad student enjoy paid internships at Deep Vellum, where they learn about the art and business of publishing.
