Brianna Hogg is a doctoral student in history, focusing on nineteenth-and-twentieth-century United States history, specializing in African and African-American studies. She entered the SMU history program in the fall of 2017. She received both of her BA and MA in history from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Brianna’s dissertation examines the impact of urban renewal and redevelopment on black communities. Additional areas of research interest include urban history, African-American history, race and culture, oral history, digital humanities, and public history.
