Master of Science Students

M.S. in Accounting

The curriculum of the Master of Science in Accounting program is designed to provide students with an in-depth examination of critical accounting, tax and financial issues. Students will take a total of 32 credit hours. Of the 32 required hours, 22 must be in accounting courses.

M.S. in Business Analytics

The curriculum of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program is an educational experience that provides knowledge and skills in key business analytics disciplines so students can become successful in their careers. Students will complete a total of 33 credit hours, of which 25 credit hours are core (or required) courses and 8 credit hours are electives in this one-year, lock-step program.

M.S. in Finance

The curriculum of the Master of Science in Finance program is designed to transform students' understanding of business and the global economy, equipping them with the skills and relationships needed to succeed in the financial services marketplace. Students will take a total of 30 credit hours, of which 24 credit hours are finance courses in this one-year, predominantly lock-step program.

M.S. in Management

The curriculum of the Master of Science in Management program is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of business along with the budgeting, management, marketing, financial, and strategic planning tools needed to assume leadership positions.  Students will take a total of 30 credit hours in this one-year lock-step program.

M.S. in Real Estate

The curriculum of the Master of Science in Real Estate program is shaped to provide future business leaders and real estate heavyweights in the Dallas area with the knowledge to tackle the market full-force. Students will take a total of 31 credits hours in this one-year program, with possible background courses ahead of the program that would make it a 35 hour program.

M.S. in Sports Management

The M.S.S.M. degree is offered jointly by the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development and the Cox School of Business. The program is designed for students who have a passion for the business of sport and who aspire to hold senior-management positions in the multibillion dollar sports industry.

The M.S.S.M. degree is a full-time, 12-month program. The program is led by sport management professionals with decades of executive experience in a wide range of segments, including professional leagues and teams, media and broadcasting, marketing and sponsorship, facilities and sports equipment, and apparel. Students will learn important business skills from Cox faculty. Each 16-week term is divided into two eight-week modules, with courses being offered in the evenings and on Saturdays.
