Why Choose the SMU Project Management Certificate?

A college degree is not required to register for this program. Your application will require you to upload a copy of your resume that will help our staff and instructors get to know you before class and tailor content to students’ interests and industries.

This program provides 40 Professional Development Units (PDUs), which fulfills the education requirement to sit for the PMP® (Project Management Professional) Examination. All other required prerequisites must be completed by students individually, outside of class. Find out more about the PMP® Exam.

The certificate program introduces tools, techniques, and models used by effective project management professionals, aligned with the PMBOK® Guide. This program does not focus on exam preparation. Students who complete the certificate program may be interested in our online courses on special topics or SMU PMP® Exam Prep, specifically.
