What to do if sick with the flu

  • Stay home and limit contact with others until you no longer have a fever (a temperature of less than 100.5 F) for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
  • To schedule an appointment with a provider at the Dr. Bob Smith Health Center, log into your SMU Health Portal or call 214-768-2141.
  • Seek medical attention if experiencing acute symptoms such as body aches, cough or a fever of more than 100.5 F. In case of emergency, call 911 or visit a hospital emergency room.

 

Vaccines

Getting vaccinated protects both you and those around you. Flu vaccinations are available at the Dr. Both Smith Health Center. All students and employees are eligible to receive a flu shot at the health center.

Testing

SMU Students have several options to test for COVID-19.

No-cost COVID-19 testing is available at the Dr. Bob Smith Health Center for students. You can schedule your test by visiting the SMU Health Portal or by calling 214-768-2141 (option 1).
