Herbert Coleman

   Margot Perez-Greene
   Associate Dean, Enrollment Management

A graduate of Perkins School of Theology and former pastor in the United Methodist Church, Margot Perez-Greene joins the enrollment services team to provide high quality service by working creatively and diligently to attain optimal enrollments, support the academic mission of Perkins (prepare women and men for faithful leadership in Christian ministry) and units of the institution and enhance student success and development. She promotes the vision of operating interdependently with others, sharing information of value to the institution as a whole, and working with colleagues to achieve cohesive, supportive, and seamless systems for students from the date of first inquiry through graduation and beyond. Margot has been on the faculty at colleges and universities in and out of the state of Texas and, prior to answering her call to local church ministry, completed the Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Texas at Austin. Margot enthusiastically embraces her call to Perkins that she believes will broadly enhance leadership in ministry. Her office is in Room 113, Selecman Hall.

In her role as Director of Student Services, Tracy Anne assists students throughout their career at Perkins to find financial resources to support their theological education. She connects students with the various financial aid resources available to them at SMU and Perkins School of Theology as well as denominational, University-based, and other scholarship agencies. Students may wish to request an individual appointment to discuss financial aid options as they plan to make their theological education affordable. Tracy Anne also oversees the day-to-day operations of our students services here in Dallas and in our Houston-Galveston Extension Program in collaboration with Katie Pryor, the community life Graduate Assistant and Lisa Beth White, student services Specialist. Tracy Anne is a member of the United Methodist Church. Her office is in Room 216, Kirby Hall.

For many students, the first introduction to Perkins may be through Herbert. Whether through a college, church or denominational meeting visit, or by hosting an Inside Perkins or individual visit to give students a glimpse of life on campus, Herbert helps prospective students understand the masters level options and program paths that await them at Perkins in the Perkins community. 



Samuel Martinez

As Assistant Director of Recruitment, Sam reaches out to and works with potential Perkins students. He’s committed to helping these students make the right decision about their theological education. As a Perkins alumnus, he’s well acquainted with Perkins' seat as a world-class institution for theological education, and he’s driven to see students placed and succeed here. Originally from Arkansas, Sam is in the process of completing his doctorate in religious studies at Yale University.

Mary manages all incoming applications to Perkins, keeping track of the status of each applicant's progress and status through the admissions process. Mary keeps in frequent contact with students to ensure that their applications are completed and processed as smoothly and quickly as possible. She also coordinates commuter housing on Campus.

   Coordinator of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Community Life


Serving as the Coordinator of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Community Life, Laura is a great resource for prospective and current students.  She helps students locate scholarship and grant resources to finance their theological education, co-edits the weekly Perkins News, and regularly updates a list of job and housing opportunities.  If you are looking for an on-campus resource or have a general question, Laura is a great person to ask.  Make an appointment or stop by 112 Selecman Hall. 

Charles Udoh
Community Life Chef


One of the newer faces at SMU Perkins School of Theology, Charles Udoh serves as Perkins Community Life Chef. He weekly provides lunches for students and faculty. He also helps maintain required supply levels for Perkins 3 kitchens, and is in charge of food and supply purchasing.  Faith, family and food and what he’s truly passionate about . He is also a professional cake decorator.
