Jewish Studies Program

Spring '20 Update

Because SMU has migrated to distance learning in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, Jewish Studies has postponed its public programs. Unfortunately this includes the Nate and Ann Levine Lecture in Jewish Studies. Undaunted by the separation of continents and oceans, student learning is still continuing apace. Chef Tina Wasserman zoomed into the Introduction to Jewish Studies class to guest lecture on Jewish foodways. Below you can watch a video of student responses to "Antisemitism: Past and Present" in their course A Persistent Prejudice: Antisemitism in Western Civilization.

We look forward to celebrating our Jewish Studies minor graduates at the postponed commencement ceremonies in August.

Stay safe and sane!
