SMU Men's BasketballThe SMU Men's Basketball team has reached the second round of the National Invitation Tournament and will play LSU at 8 p.m. Monday, March 24, in Moody Coliseum.

About the Men's Game:

No. 1-seeded SMU (24-9) hosts fifth-seeded LSU (20-13) in the National Invitation Tournament Second Round at Moody Coliseum on Monday at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN. The game is sold out, the Mustangs' eighth sellout of the year, a Moody Coliseum record. SMU has 24 wins, the fourth-most in program history, and the most since the Mustangs recorded 28 wins in the 1987-88 season. The Mustangs are 16-1 at home this season, including 10-1 inside Moody Coliseum. SMU's 16 home wins are a program record. SMU, which is making its third NIT appearance, defeated UC Irvine 68-54 in the first round on Wednesday.

SMU tied the program record with 12 conference wins, most since winning the 1993 Southwest Conference title. The Mustangs' third-place conference finish was the best since 2003.

Women's Basketball falls to Minnesota 77-70 in WNIT Second Round:

SMU senior Keena Mays scored 34 points, setting the single-season program record for scoring, but the Mustangs could not overcome an early deficit to Minnesota, falling 77-70 in the second round of the WNIT at Williams Arena on Sunday, March 23.

SMU (18-14) trailed by as many as 19 early in the second half, but was able to pull within two possessions in the final minutes of the game. Mays scored 24 of her 34 points in the second half to spur SMU's comeback, including 12 points in a four-minute span that saw SMU go on a 16-4 run to pull within four, 74-70, with 1:05 to go.
