Tate Lecture Series

Endowed President’s Scholars Fund

In recognition of the Tate Lecture Series' silver anniversary season, in 2006-07, the University established the Willis M. Tate Distinguished Lecture Series Endowed President's Scholars Fund. The fund benefits SMU's President's Scholars Program, the University's most prestigious merit-based scholarship award. The President's Scholars Program is so named because it represents the University's highest commitment to attract and serve high-achieving students. Founded in 1982, the President's Scholars Program has provided a world of opportunity to some of the nation's brightest students, who in turn enrich the University with their intellectual vitality, diverse talents, and campus involvement.

We want to thank those patrons who generously contributed during the 2011-12 Tate season. Nearly 125 donors contributed more than $22,000. We hope that many of you will consider a contribution to this endowment when you renew your season tickets or purchase single event tickets for the upcoming season.

Gifts in any amount support scholars by providing additional resources for independent research, international study and other academic programs. To make a gift or for information, please call 214-768-8283 or email us at tateseries@smu.edu.
