Important game day parking and vehicle
relocation information for students

Important game day parking and vehicle relocation information for students for the August 30 game against Texas Tech at Ford Stadium.

The SMU community welcomes visitors to its home football games and strives to meet their parking needs on game day. In that spirit of cordiality, we ask many of our students, faculty, and staff to temporarily give up their parking spaces near Ford Stadium on game day and the evening before.

SMU will play Texas Tech on FRIDAY, August 30, at 7 p.m. in Ford Stadium. Therefore, it is requested that all student-owned vehicles parked in the following areas (see map below) be relocated to designated parking areas at the northern end of the campus by 11 p.m. THURSDAY, August 29:

  • Meadows Garage and surface lot
  • Theology lot (adjacent to HPUMC and Perkins School of Theology)
  • South Quad parking lot (Westcott Field)
  • Peyton Parkway (around the Memorial Health Center)
  • Dyer Court (next to Umphrey Lee)
  • Binkley Avenue  (between Airline Road and Dublin Street)
  • Binkley Garage
  • Moody Garage

*Affected areas are indicated as red striped areas on the map below.  Vehicles left in these areas after 11 p.m. THURSDAY will be towed to the rooftop of Airline Garage and an $80 relocation fee assessed.

At 5 p.m. Thursday, the Commuter Lot on University Boulevard at Airline Road also will be closed.

Vehicles with Student or Resident parking permits may begin relocating at noon Thursday to the Airline and Law garages or to the Heroy Lot north of Dallas Hall.

Vehicles may be returned to their normal parking areas following the end of the football game Friday night. They must be removed from their temporary locations no later than 7 a.m. Tuesday to avoid receiving a citation.

If your vehicle has been towed, you may retrieve it from the rooftop of Airline garage before 7 a.m. Tuesday. Vehicles left there after 7 a.m. Tuesday are subject to a citation.

Students are reminded that the communities of Highland Park and University Park have established resident-only parking areas near the SMU campus. Cars without resident parking or guest permits may be cited or towed by the Park Cities police departments.
