The following video shows how SMU alumnus Eddie Coker, who graduated from Meadows School of the Arts in 1983, is using his opera training at SMU to sing for kids.

Eddie Coker, a singer songwriter from Dallas now living in Colorado, is an opera singer for children. In high school, he was involved in musicals, which led to an influential individual telling Coker that he could be an opera singer, and he later wound up getting a scholarship for voice to Southern Methodist University. Coker tells us about the life of an opera singer and his journey to use his talents to empower children. He currently works with Wezmore, which is is “A movement to empower kids to be confident, happy, healthy and experience love at every step.”
