SMU Police Department BadgeDALLAS (SMU) – Skip where you usually eat dinner on Tuesday nights and go to the SMU flagpole for a special evening of food, friendship and fighting crime.

As part of the statewide observance of National Night Out, SMU’s dining halls will close Tuesday evening, October 2, and move to the flagpole, where food will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. All students, faculty and staff are invited. There will be a slight charge for those not on a University meal plan.

In addition to the food, there will be a medical helicopter, police and firefighting vehicles and giveaways. There also will be opportunities to register your bicycle and engrave an identification number on your laptop.

The event, intended to help fight crime and promote neighborliness, is sponsored by the SMU Police Department and SMU Dining Services.
