DALLAS (SMU) - SMU alumnus Jim Johnston will be honored with the 2011 Silver Anniversary Mustang Award at halftime of the January 28 men's basketball game against Tulsa.

Johnston earned a BBA Degree in 1970 and an MBA Degree in 1971 from SMU while serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the football team. Since graduation, Johnston has remained involved on the Hilltop, having served as Chairman of the Board for the Mustang Club, the Lettermen's Association, the Planned Giving Counsel and the Athletics Hall of Fame.
Away from the Hilltop, Johnston has had a 40-year career in Dallas banking, starting as a trainee with Republic Bank Dallas, and later serving as Regional Chairman of Frost Bank and Vice Chairman of Bank of Texas.
