The Dallas Historical Society is holding a luncheon this afternoon honoring this year's recipients of its community service awards.

"Each year we look forward to this fantastic opportunity to honor some of Dallas' brightest civic, cultural and community leaders," said Jack Bunning, director of the historical society.

The community leaders were selected for making "significant contributions to the quality of life in Dallas and the surrounding area." Past recipients include Ebby Halliday and Stanley Marcus....

Among the award recipients:

Arts leadership: Dr. Mark A. Roglan, director, Meadows Museum, Southern Methodist University.

The Meadows Museum is perhaps the finest repository of Spanish art in the United States. Roglan's leadership has manifested itself in an array of creative exhibitions, the acquisition of works and in engaging the community through a variety of outreach and educational efforts. In 2010, he was knighted by Juan Carlos I of Spain for his contributions to the arts and culture.
