SMU single-game football tickets go on sale

Single-game tickets for 2011 SMU football season went on sale on Monday, Aug. 1.

DALLAS (SMU) - Single-game tickets for 2011 SMU football season went on sale on Monday, Aug. 1.

Kyle Padron passesOn the heels of two consecutive bowl berths and Conference USA Western Division Co-Championships, tickets are expected to sell fast. Fans wanting to lock up season tickets - which start at as little as $72 - can call the SMU Ticket Office at (214) SMU-GAME (768-4263), while those wanting single-game tickets can click here.

Tickets for all six home football games and five road games will be available. SMU has already sold its entire allotment of tickets for its game at TCU.

SMU will also continue to offer a tremendous deal for families with its "Family 4-Packs", where fans can get four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for as little as $60 for the Northwestern State (Sept. 17) and Rice (Nov. 26) games. This special must be purchased in advance of game day, but there is no limit as to how many combos one can purchase. After the buying the initial "4-Pack", one can add additional party members at a pro-rated price of $15 per endzone package.

SMU opens the season at former Southwest Conference rival Texas A&M on Sept. 4 before opening the home slate with a big C-USA Western Division match-up with UTEP on Sept. 10. The Northwestern State Demons then come to Dallas for a meeting with SMU on Sept. 17.

The Mustangs will then enter a tough stretch with four of five games on the road, playing at Memphis (Sept. 24), at TCU (Sept. 30 - sold out), at Southern Miss (Oct. 22) and at Tulsa (Oct. 29), with only an Oct. 15th home rematch of the 2010 Conference USA Championship Game against UCF breaking up the road run.

The November slate features three of four games at Gerald J. Ford Stadium, as SMU plays host to Tulane (Nov. 5), Navy (Nov. 12) and Rice (Nov. 26). SMU's final road contest comes on Nov. 19 when the Mustangs play at Houston, with the two squads having shared the C-USA Western Division Championship in back-to-back seasons.

Preseason honors and accolades are piling up for the Mustangs, with Athlon Sports picking SMU to finish first in Conference USA's Western Division. The publication also named nine Mustangs to its preseason All-C-USA squads.
