Minor Gas Leak Closes Airline Road
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid the area surrounding the future site of the Annette Caldwell Simmons Hall in the northeastern section of the campus until mid-afternoon because of a minor gas leak related to construction activities.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid the area surrounding the future site of the Annette Caldwell Simmons Hall in the northeastern section of the campus until mid-afternoon because of a minor gas leak related to construction activities. No buildings needed to be evacuated. However, Airline Road has been temporarily closed from University Boulevard to Fondren Drive. The leak occurred about 11 a.m. Tuesday and a repair crew from Atmos Energy was summoned to the scene.
The University apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
