Is health care a moral issue?

If health care is a moral obligation, does that mean we must do whatever is necessary so that everybody has health care? Prof. William B. Lawrence, dean of SMU's Perkins School of Theology, tackles this issue.

In a recent interview with The Dallas Morning News, Professor William B. Lawrence, dean of SMU's Perkins School of Theology was asked this question.  Here's what he had to say:

"Providing access to adequate health care is a moral obligation of every society. It is a moral obligation to provide health care, not on the basis of social or economic class, but on the basis of human dignity."
