Linda Blase instructs first-year graduate design students in the use of Adobe Photoshop in the rendering process, utilizing tools, filters, layers, masks and external graphic tablets.

She also teaches stage photography to second-year graduate students, enabling them to document their work on stage for use in portfolios, showcases and job applications. The course covers camera handling and Photoshop editing and the enhancement of photographic images.

Blase has been a member of Actors Equity Association for over 30 years and has worked as a stage manager, production manager, scenic, projection and lighting designer, and stage photographer.

She was a member of the Dallas Theater Center’s Resident Company under artistic director Paul Baker, and was active there as a designer, stage manager and photographer through Adrian Hall’s tenure, often collaborating with Tony Award-winning designer Eugene Lee. During that time, she wrote an article on stage photography for Lighting Dimensions Magazine and was a guest speaker at a USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology) national convention in Corpus Christi.

As a lighting designer, Blase is a recipient of two Dallas Theatre Critics Forum Awards and six Leon Rabin Awards, having designed lighting for over 400 professional productions at theaters including Dallas Theater Center, Theatre Three, Dallas Children’s Theater, Shakespeare Dallas, Lyric Stage, Cara Mia Theatre Company, Teatro Dallas, Echo Theatre, Horse Cave Theatre, Burt Reynolds Jupiter Theater, Cortland Repertory Theatre and the Lamb’s Theatre (Off Broadway).

Her photographs have appeared in many local and national publications, including The New York Times, Texas Monthly, D Magazine, People, US, Dialogue, Time, American Theatre, and Saturday Review (cover photo May 15, 1976), as well as numerous theatre books and magazines. She was a major contributor to 1992’s “America’s Theater Desk Calendar” and her theatre photographs have been exhibited at the Warehouse Theatre and Gallery in Corsicana, Texas, Theatre Three, the Dallas Public Library and the Irving Arts Center.
