Communication Inspires Action.

In the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs (CCPA) program, students investigate how business, government and nonprofit institutions develop, plan and execute strategic communications programs. They work with an award-winning faculty who are highly skilled both as scholars and as practitioners, and have the additional benefit of an Advisory Board composed of executives from the nation's leading political, nonprofit and business organizations.

The program offers both a major and a minor. Majors receive a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, which combines a broad background in the liberal arts with a specialized curriculum of coursework, internships and experiential hands-on learning. After developing a strong core of fundamental communication skills and knowledge, students learn how to apply those skills in organizational and public contexts. Through projects outside the classroom, students develop a portfolio of work for actual clients.

Students also have a significant opportunity to participate in communications programs at off-campus locations such as London, New York and Washington, D.C. The CCPA program emphasizes capabilities in critical thinking, problem solving, research and writing. As a result, students leave the program prepared for graduate and professional studies, and/or to work in agencies, corporations, nonprofit organizations, cultural and educational institutions, associations and government.
