May Commencement Convocation

Faculty Information

Faculty RSVP is now closed.

This year due to unusually large number of students participating in the University Commencement Convocation on Saturday morning, May 16, and the expected large numbers of audience members attending graduation this year, all entry into Moody Coliseum will be by guest ticket or pass list. 

To be added to the faculty pass list, you must RSVP no later than 4:00 p.m., May 8. Faculty walk-ups the morning of the ceremony cannot be accommodated. 

Confirmations with important entry, security screening and prohibited items will be sent to faculty on the pass list by Monday, May 11.

Faculty Breakfast

Prior to the ceremony there is a Faculty breakfast beginning at 7:45 a.m. in the Miller Event Center's Champions Club in Moody Coliseum. If you are participating as a Faculty Marshal for Commencement Convocation, you are encouraged to report to your assigned location by 7:50 a.m.

Faculty Procession

Retired and current faculty will assemble in academic dress no later than 8:40 a.m. in the Miller's Champions Club. The faculty will process together to the floor of Moody Coliseum, led by the retired faculty.

The procession begins moving at 8:50 a.m. following the graduation candidates of 2015. The faculty remain standing until the President is seated. With respect to the removal or replacement of mortarboards, follow the lead of the President. After the playing of the University Hymn, "Varsity," the Platform Party will lead the recessional, followed by the Faculty in a single-file line.

Faculty Regalia

If you need academic regalia, please contact your department administrator to determine the ordering process. To ensure that regalia arrive in time and to avoid any late shipping fees, orders must be placed by April 24. Faculty are encouraged to check with their department's rental policies. To process your order they will need the following information:

  • Last Name
  • First Name
  • Height (with shoes)
  • Cap Size
  • Degree
  • Name of school where degree was earned
  • City and state of school
  • Phone number where you can be reached
  • Department on campus

You may transmit the above information via phone, fax, email or in-person at the Bookstore. If you call the Bookstore, any clerk can assist you. If you email or fax the request, please put "To the attention of Commencement Regalia" on your request.
