Peter K. Moore is Dean ad interim of Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences at Southern Methodist University. As dean ad interim of Dedman College, Moore leads the largest of SMU’s colleges and schools, with a faculty of more than 250 and 2,000 students enrolled as majors or minors.
Dr. Moore served as Chair of the Department of Mathematics for four years before stepping into his role as Dean ad interim.
His area of expertise is in the development of computer software for the solution of equations that arise in a variety of science and engineering applications. He has joint research with Dr. Werner Horsthemke in SMU’s Department of Chemistry.
Dr. Moore has served on the editorial board of Applied Numerical Mathematics, a prominent journal in the field.
