Lactation Spaces and Reservations
How to Find and Reserve Lactation Rooms
Our campus is dedicated to providing comfortable, private spaces for lactating individuals. Lactation rooms are available at multiple locations, ensuring accessibility for all members of our community. Please follow the steps below to locate and reserve your space.
Step 1: Locate a Lactation Room
Use the Interactive Map to view the locations of all lactation rooms. The maps clearly indicate where each room is situated, helping you find the most convenient option for your needs.
Step 2: Reserve a Room via STABLE
Most lactation rooms require a reservation, which can be easily made through smu.edu/stable. Locate the gadget for Lactation Rooms within the Reservations and Event Modules. Each room has specific usage guidelines. You can view these as well as current room pictures and amenities within STABLE before confirming your reservation. A copy of the guidelines will also be emailed to you as part of your booking confirmation. If the room requires card reader access, your permissions will be assigned 30 minutes prior to the start of your reservation time.
Step 3: Access Your Reserved Room
After making your reservation, check your email for confirmation and the room’s guidelines. Follow entry instructions provided, and ensure you adhere to the posted room guidelines for a comfortable and respectful experience.
Publicly Available Rooms
Some lactation rooms are available to our campus guests without a reservation. These can be located within special venues for events (such as Weber, Hughes-Trigg Student Center, etc.).
Many buildings also have various conference rooms or private offices that can be made available to employees. If you need special arrangements, please work with your building manager or supervisor to determine the best space for your needs.
