Shun received his B.A. in Sociology from the University of North Texas and M.A. in Counseling from Prairie View University.
As the Assistant Director of Student Success and Retention, what excites me the most about my position is getting the opportunity to inspire, learn and grow with the students at SMU! I hope to make a positive difference with the students on the SMU campus by demonstrating excellence, integrity, kindness and inclusion. What makes SMU special to my position is having the opportunity to connect with the amazing staff and students.

Ivy holds a B.S. and M.S. in Biology, as well as an M.A. in Higher Education with a specialization in promoting minority student success and retention. Prior to her role at SSR, Ivy gained extensive experience working at five different higher education institutions in various capacities, including tutoring, mentoring, teaching, advising, and coordinating various programs. As the Success Counselor at SSR, Ivy is dedicated to offering holistic support to SMU students, encompassing their academic, social, emotional, and professional development.
Originally from China, Ivy enjoys spending quality time with her family, engaging in arts and crafts, and exploring different cuisines. Ivy is fluent in Mandarin and Teochew, and intermediate in Cantonese.
Ivy’s message to students:
“There are no silly questions or questions that are too trivial to discuss with your Success Counselor. Please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here for you!”
