Shun received his B.A. in Sociology from the University of North Texas and M.A. in Counseling from Prairie View University.
As the Assistant Director of Student Success and Retention, what excites me the most about my position is getting the opportunity to inspire, learn and grow with the students at SMU! I hope to make a positive difference with the students on the SMU campus by demonstrating excellence, integrity, kindness and inclusion. What makes SMU special to my position is having the opportunity to connect with the amazing staff and students.

Jay is a proud native of Carencro, LA. He received his BA in History from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from East Tennessee State University. He is pursuing his Doctor of Education in Higher Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce. As a Success Counselor, Jay supports SMU students through their Academic careers by supporting them with their academic and professional development.
