The Scholars Den is a distinctive, newly renovated space intended for studying, group work, casual meetings, or even a quick nap between classes.

The Scholars Den serves as the central gathering space for SMU's Honors & Scholars community and the Office of Engaged Learning.

This central space offers a welcoming home for study, collaboration, and connection. The Scholars Den is a distinctive, newly renovated space in the basement of Clements Hall designed for studying, group work, casual meetings, or even a quick nap between classes. Make a coffee before class in the Hale Family Café, attend events hosted throughout the year, or stop by to visit many of your faculty and staff from Honors & Scholar Programs and the Office of Engaged Learning.

The David D. Doyle, Jr. Lending Library, housed in Scholars Den, is open to students, faculty, and staff for borrowing, sharing, and donating books across multiple genres to foster conversation and community.

    Accessibility: A wheelchair-accessible direct entrance to the basement level is located on the east side of the building, facing Hughes-Trigg Student Center.
    Alternatively, attendees may use the accessible entrance on the west side to enter the first floor and take the elevator to the basement level.
    Please note that there are no internal staircases providing access to the basement.

The Clements Hall Building is open until 10:00 PM
