The Financial Conflicts of Interest (FCOI) Program, codified in SMU Policy 10.7, helps Research Compliance identify and manage any potential or actual conflicts of interest involving sponsored projects. The program requires that Responsible Parties disclose any financial relationship with a funding source and complete a training course. Responsible Parties are individuals who conduct externally funded research, provide oversight for externally funded research, or negotiate research agreements.
Details about the FCOI program can now be found in the Research Handbook.
Financial Interest Disclosures relating to externally-funded research projects are now reported and tracked via the Axiom Mentor system.
We offer guidance for planning your research project. To discuss your specific research plans, please email Research Compliance or call at 214-768-4204.
