    Faculty members in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering publish their research in their disciplines’ top journals. Technical specialties include environmental, transportation, geotechnical, and structural engineering.  In the past three years, tenure-track faculty members have published over 30 peer reviewed journal articles and have presented 16 conference papers.

    CEE departmental teaching and research laboratories are located in the state-of-the-art J. Lindsay Embrey Building, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold building.  Laboratories include dedicated space for fate and transport modeling of contaminants, soil and water chemistry, fluid mechanics and hydraulics, transportation modeling, structural analysis and geotechnical engineering.
