Joseph Jaworski to present Bolin family Public Life Personal Faith Scholarship Luncheon lecture on Feb. 2, 2018
Critically acclaimed international best-selling author Joseph Jaworski will be the featured speaker for the 2018 Bolin Family Public Life Personal Faith Scholarship Luncheon, scheduled for noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 2, at the Martha Proctor Mack Grand Ballroom of the Umphrey Lee Student Center on the SMU campus.
DALLAS (SMU) – Critically acclaimed international best-selling author Joseph Jaworski will be the featured speaker for the 2018 Bolin Family Public Life Personal Faith Scholarship Luncheon, scheduled for noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 2, at the Martha Proctor Mack Grand Ballroom of the Umphrey Lee Student Center on the SMU campus.
Joseph Jaworski will have a conversation with Craig C. Hill, Dean of Perkins School of Theology, on the topic of Leadership.
Jaworski, founder and chairman of both Generon International and the Global Leadership Initiative, advises CEOs and senior executives in Fortune 500 companies. He is a pioneer and prominent thought leader in the discipline of ‘Strategic Foresight,’ enabling leaders to deepen their capacity for tactical and strategic insight.
Jaworski is the author of the international best-seller Synchronicity: The Inner Path of Leadership, the co-author of Presence: An Exploration of Profound Change in People, Organizations, and Society, and recently released Source: The Inner Path of Knowledge Creation. In his recent book, Jaworski notes that institutions of all sorts are facing profound change today, with complexity increasing at a speed and intensity never experienced before. He posits that traditional analytical leadership approaches are inadequate for dealing creatively with this complexity.
Dr. Craig C. Hill began his tenure as Dean at SMU’s Perkins School of Theology in 2016. He has had a distinguished academic career as a pastor, professor, administrator, researcher, and writer. Dean Hill has fostered a collaboration between disciplines at SMU including a joint program between Perkins and Cox School of Business and another with Meadows School of the Arts. His greatly praised book Servant of All: Status, Ambition, and the Way of Jesus has been widely used in churches and other settings.
The Public Life Personal Faith Scholarship Luncheon is sponsored by the family of Pat and Jane Bolin. Pat Bolin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Eagle Corp and Eagle Oil & Gas Co. in Dallas, is a graduate of Southern Methodist University (B.A. ’73) and 2010 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the SMU Cox School of Business.
The PLPF series, in its eighth year, is a fundraising and outreach event of Perkins School of Theology in service to the larger community. The lecture provides an opportunity for participants to engage scholars on topics related to why and how personal faith shapes public life.
