SMU Data Mining Teams Wins Big in Vegas!
Economics
For a second consecutive year, SMU captured the first place prize in the 2009 Data Mining Shootout, a national competition. Winners were announced in Las Vegas on Oct. 27 and congratulations go to team members Mike Fulmer, Jingjing Ye, and Steven Gregory, along with their leader Tom Fomby, Chair of the Economics Department at Dedman College, and former student and PhD graduate Indro Dasgupta, who served as consultant.
