Location

The 58th Annual SMU Air Law Symposium will be held both in-person and virtually! The in-person event will be held at the Omni Las Colinas, 221 East Las Colinas Boulevard, Irving, TX 75039. Virtual attendees will receive a dedicated link to the conference shortly before the symposium. There will be separate links for each day of the conference that will be sent to the email you use to register. A block of hotel rooms at symposium special rates have been arranged at the Omni Las Colinas and may be reserved at registration or using this link. The rooms at special rates are only available until 5:00 p.m. C.S.T. on February 27, 2024 or until all the rooms are booked.

Ground transportation

Registration fees

Early Registration for our virtual event is $395 per person. To secure this discounted rate, payment must be received in full by Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Registrations can be done at this link or by check (made payable to the “SMU Air Law Symposium”) that are mailed to our office. If paying via check, please call 214-768-2570 for the form to accompany your check.

After February 20, 2024, the registration fee is $445 per person. Online registration ends at 5:00 p.m. C.S.T., March 15, 2024, however attendees can still register at the door.

Special rates

As an incentive for first-time attendees, a special rate of $225 is offered. Government employees may register for $300 per person. The Student registration rate is $125 per person for non-SMU students. The Government and Student rates are restricted to full-time employees of state or federal government agencies and full-time students. Please select one of these rates when registering online or you can send a check and registration form (call 214-768-2570 for form) to our office address.

All registration fees include the cost of all sessions of the Symposium, one set of Symposium materials, and a one-year subscription to the Journal of Air Law and Commerce.

Refund and cancellation policy

Registrants needing to cancel an existing registration must contact our office at 214-768-2570 or email jalcals@smu.edu. Through March 6, 2024, a full refund of the registration fee paid will be given and no materials will be sent. After March 6, 2024, registrants who cancel their registration and do not attend the Symposium will receive a refund in the amount of the fee paid less $150 for the cost of materials and administrative expenses. The link to the online materials will be sent to you after the event.

CLE credit

The 58th Annual SMU Air Law Symposium provides registrants with continuing legal education credits suitable to meet various states’ mandatory continuing legal education requirements. Depending on each state bar, generally 8 to 10 hours of CLE credit are awarded for attending the Symposium. Registrants wishing certification of their attendance to be sent to the appropriate boards MUST SIGN IN at the CLE Information Desk at registration for all sessions attended and provide all information needed for certification. CLE hours will be tracked for each virtual attendee via the dedicated link that is sent to you to sign into the event. This dedicated link will identify each attendee by the email address on your registration form, so please log in and out using that email address. Course materials

Each registrant will receive one set of course materials as a part of the registration fee. Those wanting extra copies or those are unable to attend the Symposium may purchase copies of the course materials for $100 which includes shipping and handling.
