SMU Policy on Subpoenas, Search Warrants, Court Orders, Service of Process, and Information Requests
SMU Policy 13.8, Policy for Service of Subpoenas and Responding to Subpoenas or Other Requests for Records of Current or Former Students and Employees, which can be found at http://smu.edu/policy/S13/subpoena.html, states that the Secretary of the University is the University's agent for service of process. As such, all subpoenas, written requests for information, and any documents relating to a lawsuit against SMU must be delivered to the Office of Legal Affairs. For search warrants, please contact the SMU Police Department at 214.768.3388.

From the Registrar's Office in Laura Lee Blanton Building, you must head north on Airline Road toward Dyer St. Continue onto Daniel Avenue, turn left onto Hillcrest Avenue, and then take the second left onto McFarlin Boulevard. The Perkins Administration Building will be on your left. There is limited parking along Hillcrest Avenue and metered parking on University Boulevard beside the building. You may call the Office of Legal Affairs for further instructions on parking.
