Learning and Development at SMU

Program for the Protection of Minors

Message from R. Gerald Turner, SMU President

Each year, many children come to SMU for camps, classes and sporting events. It is our responsibility to ensure their protection and to prevent child abuse. It is also Texas state law. Our goal at SMU is to exceed state standards by requiring every administrator, faculty, and staff member to complete a training course.

The short online training course will require approximately one hour of your time. I have asked every dean and vice-president to ensure that all employees in their respective areas complete this important training by April 30, 2013.
