The Mission of CORE
The Center on Research and Evaluation (CORE) is dedicated to supporting and expanding SMU’s commitment to teaching, research, and service in communities and the larger global society. CORE conducts high-quality research and evaluation to drive positive and sustainable change in individuals, schools, and communities in a customized manner, as well as provides research support to the SMU faculty and staff. Through interdisciplinary partnerships, CORE empowers providers to increase their capacity to provide effective services.
Texas Impact: Evaluation Report for Teach For America
CORE’s recent evaluation examined the overall impact of Teach For America (TFA) on academic outcomes within one year. It replicates and expands on existing evidence about TFA impacts and describes the various conditions that differentially contribute to effectiveness in various Texas settings.
