Biographical Note:

Dr. Condoleezza Rice served as Secretary of State during the second term of the George W. Bush presidency, from 2005 to 2009. Before her cabinet post, Rice served as the National Security Advisor to President Bush during his first term (2001-2005), as well as a member of the National Security Council under President George H.W. Bush and as an intern in the state department during the presidency of Jimmy Carter. In addition to her federal service in matters of international diplomacy and national security, Dr. Rice maintained an academic career, serving as a professor and provost at Stanford University and the Hoover Institution.
