Tarun Patel is an assistant professor of finance at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Dr. Patel has an assortment of teaching experience. Dr. Patel taught courses on international finance at the University of Washington during his graduate studies. Dr. Patel earned his doctorate degree in finance from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. His research focuses on the role of brokers in facilitating transactions and the role of political frictions on corporate and municipal finance. Prior to earning PhD, Dr. Patel earned his bachelors degree in finance and economics from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. After earning his degree, he was a corps member with Teach for America and taught mathematics in Greenwood, MS. -
